Usage Tips

  1. If you have received a bonus card, this card is only valid for 14 days from the date the gift card was purchased at any business of your choice, within the business category. If you do not use this card in the 14-day timeframe, the funds will be forfeited and the card is no longer valid.
  2. Take a screenshot of your card number and the business name on this page for future reference. Quick note: When you add this card to your digital wallet, the business name won’t be displayed due to wallet limitations. Rest assured, the card will still function seamlessly at your gift card location, even without the name visible in your wallet. Click here to Check Balance.
  3. To use your gift card, ensure that the balance on the Local Prepaid Gift Card exceeds the total purchase you are about to make including any sales tax and a potential 20% hold as explained in the next condition. Click here to Check Balance.
  4. Please note that certain types of transactions, such as those made at restaurants, spas and salons, may require a hold of up to 20% above the total purchase. That 20% can be used for tipping or will be available after checkout. Please see your Cardholder Agreement for more information, or refer to the Sunrise Banks Privacy Policy.
  5. We recommend that you contact the merchant in advance to confirm that they accept digital/virtual prepaid MastercardÂŽ gift cards. It is possible that a small number of merchants have not updated their POS systems to allow for manual entry of credit/debit products or contactless payments. If the establishment is unable to accept the Local Prepaid Gift Card, cannot accept a Local Prepaid Gift Card without a magnetic stripe or has a system limitation, or if you wish to change to another establishment within the same merchant category, please visit the redemption page for instructions on how to switch the establishment.
  6. Your Gift Card is a Virtual Mastercard Prepaid Gift Card that is restricted for use in the business category selected by the person who sent you the Gift Card. You can use the Prepaid Gift Card at the local merchant selected by the purchaser, where Virtual Mastercard Prepaid Gift Cards are accepted, or you can use the Mastercard Prepaid Gift Card at another local merchant within the same category of business, where accepted. If you prefer, you can easily exchange the local merchant name/information, at no charge, by visiting the card redemption page and following instructions. Exchanges can only occur before your Mastercard Prepaid Gift Card is used. Once you use your Prepaid Gift Card for any amount, the local business shown cannot be exchanged for a different local business.
  7. Access your Local Prepaid Gift Card via the email or text you received to view the Card details, or you may print the Local Virtual Prepaid Gift Card and bring it to that establishment or save the card to a wallet on your mobile device.
  8. Please inform the merchant that you will be using a Mastercard Prepaid Gift Card for your purchase (they should not select “Gift Card”).
  9. You can provide the 16 digit account number, valid through date and 3 digit security code located on your Local Prepaid Gift Card to the establishment so they can input that information into their card system manually. Setting a Personal Identification Number (“PIN”)

When you first use the Gift Card Market Mastercard Prepaid Gift Card at a merchant’s Point of Sale (“POS”) device, the initial PIN for your first PIN-based transaction will be the last four digits of the Gift Card number. If you need to reset the Virtual Mastercard Prepaid Gift Card’s PIN, please contact Customer Service at 913-206-6152 and select option 1, or send an email to support@giftcardmarket.com. You will be required to provide information about the Virtual Mastercard Prepaid Gift Card (account number, valid through date and security code) to reset the PIN.

Choose a PIN that you can remember easily. You should not write or keep your PIN with your Virtual Mastercard Prepaid Gift Card. Never share your PIN with anyone and do not enter your PIN into any terminal that appears to be modified or suspicious. If you believe that there has been an unauthorized access to your PIN, you should advise us immediately, following the procedures located in the Cardholder Agreement in the section labeled “Lost or Stolen Cards; Your liability for Unauthorized Transactions”.
